Two Thumbs Up is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia that is dedicated to providing meaningful social opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum. By collaborating with local businesses and same-age volunteers, they promote activities that are physical and emotionally regulating while enabling social support and connection. They want their youth and young adults to be able to engage in fun activities and expand their potential in a loving and supportive environment.
Volunteers are needed to participate in a variety of social activities and events along-side (virtually today) these youth and young adults served by Two Thumbs Up. Because of COVID19, all events are currently being held via Zoom. The next event is a Zoom Dance Class. Jahmir is a therapist and dance instructor. His passion is working with kids and teens. Jahmirs pure energy and enthusiasm shine through when he teaches dance and he makes it SO MUCH FUN.
Volunteers will participate in a virtual dance class with youth and young adults from Two Thumbs Up. In the first 15 minutes of the session, you will participate in an Ice Breaker activity that is meant to allow you to get to know each other in a fun way. Then you will have fun dancing. Ideally, volunteers should be between 12 - 23 years of age. Yes, by doing dance with Two Thumbs Up, you are actually volunteering and providing a social connection to other youth and young adults.
Once you have registered, Two Thumbs Up will email you a welcome video and the Zoom link to participate. If you are not a Pebble Tossers member and would like to participate, email email@example.com.
Please check back for other volunteer opportunities with Two Thumbs Up. We hope to see you this month for a zoom dance class!
