Pebble Tossers has partnered with Points of Light for their "Year of Civic Learning" and Pebble Tossers volunteers have access to different opportunities.
Through this three-part virtual series, youth will better understand how to support the causes and issues they care about and explore their own project ideas. Each session builds towards the final session, where youth will begin bringing a project idea to life and make a plan for their own year of civic learning. Youth who complete all three sessions will receive a certificate of participation!
Sessions will be held live on Zoom and recorded for on-demand participation for those who can't make the live sessions.
Each volunteer must register individually for each session in order to be eligible for the certificate of participation. Zoom links and more details will be provided in the confirmation email after volunteers register for the event. Session dates are as follows:
Jan 22: Understanding My Community and My Interests - Reflect on your own personal skills and talents. Understand how listening and learning is the first step in your civic engagement journey and how it can uncover the strengths, opportunities, and issues in your community
Feb. 26: Activating The Civic Circle-
Expand your knowledge of civic engagement through Points of Light's Civic Circle
Learn how you can use The Civic Circle to help create your own project ideas.
March 26: Bringing it all Together
Defining Your Year of Civic Learning: Brainstorm a project idea and make a plan for your civic engagement journey
April: (Date TBD) Pitch Development
