Pebble Tossers MLK Day Spotlight Project

Join Pebble Tossers for our spotlight project with Everybody Wins! Atlanta for a day of service in honor of MLK Day. MLK Day of Service is the only federal holiday observed as a national day of service a "day on, not a day off."

About Everybody Wins! Atlanta: For over 18 years, Everybody Wins! Atlanta has been devoted to improving the reading skills and developing a love of reading in students who are reading below grade level, giving them a greater chance for success in school and expanding their life horizon. Nearly 26,000 children in our local communities and public school districts cannot read. Everybody Wins provides tutors, readers, and books to these children.

About the Project: Pebble Tossers volunteers will label books and proofread notes that have been written by other volunteers. Approved notes will be included with the books. Everybody Wins! will then distribute the books to children from low-income families throughout our communities.

UPDATE: Due to the rising numbers of COVID cases we will be changing this project to an outdoor / remote opportunity and not an in-person event. For the in-person event we will host the project under a tent in the parking lot of Roam. Volunteers can choose to work at our tables, from their cars or take a box of books home to finish the project. If you take a box home volunteers will be responsible for returning them next week.

LOCATION:
Parking lot outside of Roam Workspace (near the LA Fitness and Office Max)
1155 Mt. Vernon Hwy, NE
Dunwoody, GA 30338
