Pebble Tossers and the Spruill Center for the Arts are teaming up on a joint project to make Origami Doves of Hope. Our goal is to make and then install 2021 doves in the entryway of the Spruill Center for the Arts. The inspiration for our project comes from German artist Michael Pendry. Just before Christmas, he installed the Les Colombes exhibit: a winding column of more than 2,000 origami paper doves in the grand nave of Washington National Cathedral. Symbolizing hope and the Holy Spirit, the doves encourage a feeling of optimism as we end a challenging 2020 and begin a new year according to the artist.
We need volunteers to hang/install the doves at the Spruill Center for the Arts. This is an Open Project. If you are not a Pebble Tossers member and want to participate click here to register.
